We are going to configure Medusa on a Debian system. So that TV series are automatically downloaded from the newsgroups. <\/p>\n\n

Before starting this tutorial, the NZBGet program must already be installed and running. if that is not the case see the NZBGet tutorial<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

Create TV folders for Medusa <\/h2>\n\n

Create a tv folder.<\/p>\n\n

mkdir tv1<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n

Granted everyone rights to the tv1 map.<\/p>\n\n

chmod -R tv1<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n

Configure Medusa Settings<\/h2>\n\n

Now open Medusa<\/strong>in your browser. http:\/\/ip-adress:8897 <\/p>\n\n

Click on the gear icon<\/strong> at the top right. And go to General<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Click New<\/strong>. And add all TV series folders. Which you made.<\/p>\n\n

Don’t forget Save Changes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Set as Default<\/strong> ensures that by default, every series is added here. You can still adjust this separately for each series.<\/p>\n\n

Configure Medusa Search<\/h2>\n\n

Now go to Search settings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Adjust the Usenet retention<\/strong>. This is often set too low. You can consult the website of your Usenet provider<\/a> for the correct setting.<\/p>\n\n

Turn onUse Failed Downloads<\/strong> and Delete Failed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

If a download fails, a new nzb file is downloaded from a newznab provider. And the failed download will be cleaned up.<\/p>\n\n

If you want to download foreign language series. then you have to remove your foreign<\/strong>language here. The chance that these will be downloaded is small. Because these are very rarely posted in the newsgroups.<\/p>\n\n

If your device cannot handle x265 files. Then you can fill this in at Undesired words<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

With Preferred words<\/strong> you enter x265. <\/p>\n\n

Then press Save Changes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Set up NZB Search Medusa<\/h2>\n\n

Open NZB search<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Check the Search NZBs<\/strong> box. <\/p>\n\n

Enter the correct details of your NZBGet installation.<\/p>\n\n

The default login is nzbget and password is also nzbget. Unless you modified this.<\/p>\n\n

Set up Search providers<\/h2>\n\n

Now go to Search providers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

And choose Configure costum newznab providers<\/strong>. Most built-in providers are only for torrenting. I recommend that you don’t use Binsearch. You will probably get a lot of unsatisfactory downloads.<\/p>\n\n

And don’t forget to do save changes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Medusa subtitle search<\/h2>\n\n

Open Subtitles Search settings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

add your desired subtitle<\/strong> language. You can add more<\/strong> then once Sometimes series are difficult to understand. And then you have a backup.<\/p>\n\n

Go to the Subtitles plugins<\/strong> tab. <\/p>\n\n

Select the above subtitle services.<\/p>\n\n

Go to the Plugins settings<\/strong> tab. <\/p>\n\n

And enter the login details of these two services here.<\/p>\n\n

Medusa Post processing<\/h2>\n\n

Now go to post processing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Go to Episode naming<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Take over the above. You will see at Single-EP Sample.Season 02\/Show.Name.S02E03.720p.HDTV-RLSGROUP.ext<\/strong>. This ensures that the subtitle search also works well. Plus you don’t get weird names.<\/p>\n\n

Go to Metadata<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

You can choose to download covers for Kodi<\/a>here. Or something else you use to watch your TV series. Here you have to choose what you want to download.<\/p>\n\n

If you want Kodi to be updated. Take over your above. And enter the ip address of your Kodi player.<\/p>\n\n

Add TV series.<\/h2>\n\n

press Show<\/strong>. And then Add shows<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Now press Add New Show<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Search for the desired TV series. And click on search<\/strong>. When your desired TV series has been found. Then select it.<\/p>\n\n

now on Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Select Costum<\/strong> And use the CTRL key to select multiple.<\/p>\n\n

Medusa will now search for new episodes.<\/p>\n\n
