Transmission on QNAP i<\/strong>s a lightweight and easy-to-use torrent client that lets you easily download and manage torrents on your NAS. Its intuitive web interface allows you to access your downloads from anywhere as long as you\u2019re connected to your network. Transmission supports features such as encrypted connections, magnet links, and automatic downloads, allowing you to manage your files securely and efficiently. <\/p>\n\n

Enabling SSH on your QNAP system<\/h2>\n\n

Before installing Transmission, it is important to check if SSH is enabled on your QNAP system. SSH is required to perform the installation and configuration steps. <\/p>\n\n

Open the web interface of your QNAP system by entering the IP address of the device in the address bar of your browser and press Enter. Then log in with your administrator credentials to access the settings. <\/p>\n\n

If you don\u2019t have PuTTY installed on your computer, now is the time to do so. PuTTY is a free tool that allows you to easily create an SSH connection to your QNAP system. <\/p>\n\n

Visit the official PuTTY download page<\/a> and choose the right version for your operating system. For Windows 10 or 11, it is recommended to download the 64-bit x86 version. <\/p>\n\n

Download the installation file and follow the instructions in the setup to install PuTTY.<\/p>\n\n

Once installed, PuTTY is ready to use and you can easily establish an SSH connection to your QNAP system.<\/p>\n\n

Installing Sherpa for Transmission Qnap<\/h2>\n\n

If Sherpa is not yet installed, you will first need to do so using the PuTTY program.<\/p>\n\n

Now that PuTTY is installed, you can create an SSH connection to your QNAP system. To do this, follow the steps below: <\/p>\n\n

  1. Open PuTTY <\/strong>on your computer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. In the Host Name (or IP address)<\/strong> field, enter the IP address of your QNAP system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Click Open <\/strong>to start the connection.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n

    Once the connection is established, you will be prompted to log in. Make sure you log in with your Administrator account. This is essential, as only an Administrator account has the necessary rights to make changes or install software on your QNAP system. <\/p>\n\n
