In this Lidarr Qnap setup tutorial. We will setup Lidarr with the program SABnzbd to automatically download the latest desired music from the newsgroups. <\/p>\n\n

Beware! SABnzbd should already be installed and you should be able to download from newsgroups. If this is not the case, first see the tutorial Install SABnzbd Qnap via SSH<\/a> (free) or the tutorial Install SABnzbd Qnap via Repo<\/a>. (paid) <\/p>\n\n

Check Lidarr Update<\/h2>\n\n

Be the first to see if there is an update available for Lidarr.<\/p>\n\n

Open System<\/strong>. Then go to Status<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Press on the icon with the two arrows<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Then, press Install latest<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

And then wait a while. Tot de update klaar.<\/p>\n\n

Renaming <\/h2>\n\n

It is important that we enable renaming. Otherwise files may be created with illogical or different names, depending on the uploader. <\/p>\n\n

Open Settings<\/strong>. Then select Media management<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Make sure the checkbox is selected for Rename Tracks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Select the question mark<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Select the second<\/strong> option. And then select Multi Disc Track Format<\/strong>. En kies dan ook voor de tweede optie.<\/p>\n\n

Check the Ignore Deleted Tracks<\/strong> checkbox.<\/p>\n\n

Qnap Lidarr setup indexers<\/h2>\n\n

We need to add indexers in Lidarr, so that the program knows where to download the music from. These indexers provide the NZB files<\/a>, which then download the desired files from the newsgroups. <\/p>\n\n

Go to Settings<\/strong>. And then Indexers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Click on the plus icon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Enter your Newznab provider details here. If you don’t have a provider, please see the Newznab servers page. The more Newznab servers<\/a> you add, the better the chance of finding the music you want in the newsgroups. <\/p>\n\n

\"Usenet<\/figure>\n\n

The Newznab server API key can usually be found in your account, under the “Site API” section.<\/p>\n\n

Click Save<\/strong>. And then Test<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Copy the above data, as this increases the chances of a successful download. However, keep in mind that the quality also depends on your Newznab provider, which is not always reliable. <\/p>\n\n

The retention period can usually be found on the website of your Usenet provider. With paid Usenet providers, this is often several years these days, while free providers usually only offer a few days of retention. <\/p>\n\n

Qnap setup Lidarr SABnzbd <\/h2>\n\n

You need an Api key from SABnzbd. This API key is different for everyone. <\/p>\n\n

Open SABnzbd <\/strong>in a second tab of your internet browser.<\/p>\n\n

Go to General <\/strong>and then you can find the API key <\/strong>under Security<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Please note this should really be the API key and not the NZB key!<\/p>\n\n

Copy this API key. And note down the SABnzbd username and password if you have set them. <\/p>\n\n

Go to Lidarr <\/strong>and then the Download client<\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n\n

Select the Plus icon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Now select SABnzbd<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

You must enter data from SABnzbd here. <\/p>\n\n

Paste the SABnzbd API key<\/strong> into API Key in Lidarr<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

And if the test <\/strong>went well then click Save<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

Lidarr Qnap setup Kodi database<\/h2>\n\n

If you use Kodi or another system to manage your music, it is important to update your library. Below I explain how to do this for Kodi, but the same steps can be applied to Plex or another system. <\/p>\n\n

Go to Settings<\/strong>. Then select Connect<\/strong>. Click on the Plus sign<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Select Kodi<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

All checkmarks under Notification Triggers<\/strong>. Ensure that you see a notification in Kodi. These checkmarks are not necessary to update the library.<\/p>\n\n

Scroll down further and find the checkbox “Update Library”. This is very important, because without it Kodi will not see the new releases. The other checkboxes can be set to your own preference. <\/p>\n\n

Go to Settings<\/strong> and then Metadata<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

Click Kodi<\/strong>. And check Enable<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Lidarr Quality Settings<\/h2>\n\n

Here you can set the minimum size of your music files. This helps to prevent you from downloading unnecessary or unwanted files. <\/p>\n\n

I would set a minimum size of 1mb. And for FLAC 3MB.<\/p>\n\n
