Usenet Explorer Uploading to the Newsgroups

In this tutorial Usenet explorer upload to the newsgroups we are going to use the program Usenet Explorer to upload files to the newsgroups. For this program you have to pay unless you only use the upload function then it is free to use.

If you have not yet set up the program to be able to download from newsgroups, first read the manual Setting up Usenet Explorer.

Creating RAR files

Before you start uploading you will first need to create the rar files. I recommend keeping the rar files around 500mb. This will increase the chance that a download will come in properly. If you make the files too large then the chance that the download from the newsgroups will fail is higher, even with par files. And possibly a password.

Install Par2 command line

You need to install the program par2 commandline if you want Usenet explorer to create the par files. If you don’t want that you need to create them yourself with Quickpar. Then go to the next step.

The latest version of Par2 command line can be downloaded here.

Unzip the file and place the par2.exe file somewhere on your computer. I created a new folder in the databaseUE folder.

Go to Edit and then Properties.

Below you will see Par2 command Line option. Enter the location where you placed par2.exe.

Add Newsgroup Usenet Explorer

If you haven’t added any newsgroups yet, you’ll need to do so first before you can upload to them.

Go to File at the top and select Newsgroup List.

Click on a newsgroup and then Subscribe.

Uploading with Usenet Explorer

Go to Post then Post a new message.

Click ADD. And add the RAR files you created earlier.

And then click on Start PAR2. You will then see the screen above. The par files are being created. You have to be patient until they are created. This can take a while, depending on the size of your files.

Then click on Post. And the upload will start.

You may need a separate upload server, this information can be found on the website of your Usenet provider. You may also need to enable this on the website of your Usenet provider. For example, at Eweka this is post.eweka.nl port 119.

This was the tutorial for uploading to the newsgroups with Usenet Explorer.
