In this tutorial Lidarr music download synology we will set up Lidarr to download the desired music albums from the newsgroups.
After setting up Lidarr, we first need to create a folder on Synology where the music will be stored.
Create a folder for Lidarr Synology
We need a folder where the music will eventually be stored, so we’ll create it now.

Click Create and then click Create a new shared folder.

Give the folder a name
Select a Location where you still have enough space.

Click Next, you don’t have to do anything here.

Click Next again

Select System internal users. And check Read/write at sc-lidarr and sc-nzbget. And if you have for example a Playback device for your music you also have to give this user rights to this.

Open nu Lidarr in je browser.

Now in Lidarr go to Library and then click on Add Root Folder.

Click on the plus icon.

In Name you enter a name that will be displayed in Lidarr.
Path is the location you just created on your Synology.
Monitor New Albums: leave this at All Albums. We can then set this per album.
Click Save.

Root Folder: leave it as is
Monitor: Here you specify which albums should be searched for from this artist. You cannot specify a name of a specific Album here, that is not possible with Lidarr.
Monitor New Albums: Here you can specify whether you want to download all new albums or only the old albums.
In Quality you enter your profile that you created earlier. Or you take Any. But this is not handy if you can’t play certain formats like FLAC.
Click on ADD artist name.
Now the desired albums of this artist are downloaded. This can of course take a while before everything is found. This depends on your Newznab or torrent providers, give it some time.
