Qnap Automatically Download Movies With CouchPotato

We are now going to discuss options to download movies automatically with CouchPotato, on a Qnap system. You can do this by searching for movies in CouchPotato yourself. Or you can do this via the IMDB app on your phone.

You have a magnified glass at the bottom left. Here you can enter the name of the movie to be searched for on your newznab servers.

This is also possible if you are just starting CouchPotato. Then you have a box in the middle, where you can enter the desired movie name.

Now a list of movies will appear.

Choose the movie you want to download.

Now you can choose in what quality you want to download the movie. Then CouchPotato goes looking for the movie.

CouchPotato doesn’t go right. Find out everything. This is going to be in phases. Otherwise, the newznab websites become overloaded. And run quickly out og API requests.

If you want to adjust the time for this. Can you do that the next way?

Go back to Settings. Then Searcher.

Check the box Show advanced settings.

If the check mark is on. Then it is possible to adjust the desired time.

Imdb.com APP download movies with CouchPotato

It is also possible to download movies. Which you have added to your IMDB watch list. The big advantage of this is. That you can add movies through different devices. For example, if you like using your Android or Iphone phone.

Search for the Imdb app on your phone. And install it. You can also use the IMDB website. But that works a lot less than the App.

Before you can use this functionality. You will first have to create an account on imdb.com. Once you’re logged into IMDd.com. Then you will see a linkYour Wachlist. Click. And then choose Edit List.

Go to Change list settings.

Put the tick to Make this list a public list visible to all IMDb Users.

This is necessary. Otherwise, CouchPotato will not work with the IMDb watchlist. Then click on Close and then onDone.

Now click the orange icon with your right mouse(RSS icon). And copy this link. The link should look something like “http://rss.imdb.com/user/ur35789448/”. There should be no watchlist in the link. Otherwise it won’t work.

Now go back to your CoucPotato.

Go back to Settings. And then to Automation.

Tick IMDB. And paste the just copied link under URL. And that check mark must also be checked.

Now, if you’ve set everything up right. Now everything is downloaded. What you have added to your IMDB watch list. This could take a while. Beware! It is also possible to add TV series to your watch list. But these will not be downloaded.
