In this tutorial we are going to configure Radarr with NZBGet on Windows Let’s have Radarr, talk to NBZGet so that the desired movies are downloaded from Usenet.
Media management
We are going to set up Media Management so that the downloaded movies are renamed. Otherwise you may get strange file names like 4lehjygffjdrgf454yh45.mkv. And this can give problems with your Movie Database or subtitles cannot be found. That’s why we’re going to adapt this to scene release names.
Open Settings.
Then go to Media management.
Turn on Advance settings.
Turn on rename.
Take over the settings below.
Standard Movie Format {Movie Title} ({Release Year}) {Quality Full}
Movie Folder Format {Movie Title} ({Release Year})
Import Extra Files On.
Extra File Extensions srt, nfo
Ignore Deleted Movies.
Click on the Save button.
Profiles
With a profile you can set the desired quality of video files that you want to download. It can be useful to have multiple profiles. For example, if you want to download old movies. And recent movies. Older movies are not always available in 4k. And you may only want new movies in 4k.
We’re going to the tablad Profiles.
Radarr already has quite a few good profiles.
With these profiles, you indicate. In what kind of quality your movies need to be downloaded.
I’m going to edit one.
Preferred Tags here I fill in x265 and x264.
Beware! Not every device can handle x265!
Therefore only enter x265 if you are sure that you can play x265 files. Today, the standard is increasingly becoming x265. These files are a lot smaller but you don’t sacrifice quality.
If you don’t have a device that can handle this yet. Then I advise you to look around for a device that can do this.
Configure quality settings
I use the above.
The best way to take over this one is to take over. This ensures that less is downloaded. If you do not download animated series. Then you can set it a little more strict. Animation series are often a bit smaller. Watch out! x265 is also a lot less big.
Add Radarr indexers Newznab
We need a Newznab server. So Radarr knows where to download the nzb file. The more you add, the faster Radarr finds something.
On the Indexerstab, go to the Indexers tab.
Select Plus.
Choose Newznab.
Here you need to provide the data from your Newznab provider.
See a NewzNab serverlist here.
Specifies the following in Whitelist subtitle tags Hardcodded EN
Unless you don’t want movies with hard-codded English subs.
You can also create a filter for what should definitely be in it.
Download client
Of course we need to add a download program in Radarr. We are going to do that with the NZBGet program. You must have all of these installed. Is dat nog niet het geval. See the tutorial Installing NZBGet Windows. And NZBGet configure.
Go to download client.
Press on the Plus sign.
Select NZBGet.
Enter the details of your NZBGet installation.
Host If NZBGet is installed on the same device as Radarr. Then localhost is enough.
Port:6789. This is standard but may be different.
Username:nzbget
Password:nzbget This is the default but I strongly recommend that you change it.
Category Movies
Press on Test. To see if NZBGet can be accessed by Radarr. If this doesn’t work, check your NZBGet settings and see if it’s enabled.
Press on Save.
Metadata Radarr Windows
With the MetaData extras are collected for your film. Such as covers and information about what the film is about.
Go to the metadata magazine.
Select Kodi. Or any other service if you use it.
Turn on the check mark Of Enable. And click Save.
This was the Windows Radarr manual configuring with NZBGet. If you have any questions, see the Radarr FAQ. Or leave a message.
